AT THE CROSS

You saw value in the under-valued
It seemed that you missed, mis-prioritized
Cause you said peace were in pieces
And you were eased even in hisses
Not upset, your mind was set
On a people you saw though they were about to ‘saw’ you.

You saw fools as beautifuls
You, Readied to exhaust your blood on logs
Who were blind to light, soaked in lies
Arrogant trots, arrogant to truth
By default, wanted to remain difficult
Rabbi! They taught and fought
Above all you kept your gaze while they abhored your grace

Yet carrying the cross, you weren’t crossed
You hung it on your shoulders, you hung our sins.
Took the weight, panted at every wait.
Made us the salt oh! how you sought us through your sores
In a bid to be our love out of the laws
We took the last drop of your blood till you dropped- dead.

Your Eternal blood
Oh! Such Eternal love
As God came among men
Became lowly for us to live in his glory
And as he rose, we became his host
So he freely gives us all that he holds

Our dear rose rose, He lives
To all that believes, no fear lives
As this gospel is preached to all our reach
That Jesus died, Jesus rose, Jesus lives
So we preach, in his finished work, we live
One that can’t be silenced, even while men deny in silence
Howbeit, the greatest feat is lit!
